Play Therapy is anything but a game.
From the APT (Association of Play Therapy) Website:
“Play Therapy is defined by APT as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.” It’s actually a lot of work to qualify to be credentialed through the APT, as whomever the therapist is, they will be guiding little people who sometimes have difficulty y processing their emotions. Most children don’t have impeccable communication skills or talk like they were born with an encyclopedia in hand.
At BLARE, we like to make statements through our work. We enjoy creatively (sometimes hilariously) helping our clients get their message to their own [perhaps potential] clients, and this shoot–with some familiar faces from Windsong–was all about making a statement. ‘Kids don’t talk like that.’
Here is a fun take on the concept of bullying and how kids talk to adults. Plus, we shot it at the house of one of our Cinematographers! The spot was produced, written and directed by Windsong Productions and was shot on a Red Scarlet camera. The lighting was done by Justin McAleece, and the camerawork by Kyle Gentz.
